Travelling to Europe is about to become much easier for Chilean nationals. From 2025, Chile and several other visa-exempt countries will be able to enter Europe with ETIAS for up to 90 days.

Do Chilean nationals require a visa to enter Europe?

No, Chilean nationals will not require a visa to enter Europe for a period of up to 90 days. For travellers from countries that do not require visas, such as Chile, the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) will be introduced in 2025.

The ETIAS is not a visa. As long as the stay doesn't exceed 90 days in 180-day period, Chilean passport holders will still be able to pass through an external EU border without needing to apply for a visa. ETIAS is accepted for travel, commerce, and transit.

Do Chilean nationals qualify for ETIAS?

Yes, you can apply for an ETIAS visa waiver if you're an Chilean national.

As of 2025, Chileans will require an ETIAS in order to enter any nation that is a part of the Schengen area.

What documents are required for Chileans to obtain ETIAS?

a valid and up-to-date, Chile-issued passport.

Some applications might require manual review. In that situation, it can take up to 72 hours for status messages to arrive. The applicant will get a notification from the ETIAS Registration team.

For the ETIAS, nearly 95% of applications are anticipated to be accepted.

Travellers who have their applications denied will have the option to appeal the decision by sending an appeal directly to the member state they plan to enter European countries through. Then, this member state will handle their appeal on its own.

The E.R.V.V.S^TM will now provide and handle the application; ensuring that your application is validated by matching the information to your travel document and information submitted.

PAY THE E.R.V.V.S^TM FEE

The ETIAS processing fee must be paid securely online by travellers using a credit or debit card.

This payment will include all application processing fees.

ETIAS PROCESSING

ETIAS applications are automatically screened against EU security databases. Most will be approved at this stage, others may require manual processing.

ETIAS APPLICATION SUCCESSFUL

Once your application has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email with your personal ETIAS approved notice.
