What is ETIAS?

ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorization System. It is a new system that the European Union (EU) is implementing to enhance border security and streamline visa-free travel to the Schengen Area, which includes 26 European countries.

In 2024, citizens of 60+ countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan, will be required to obtain an ETIAS visa waiver before traveling to any of the Schengen Area countries for business, tourism, or transit purposes.

Required Documents to Apply
Passport

A valid passport is required to apply for an ETIAS visa waiver. The passport must be issued by a country eligible for ETIAS and have a validity of at least three months beyond the intended stay in the Schengen Area.

Email address

An email address is required to receive updates on the status of the application and to receive the approved ETIAS visa waiver.

Credit/Debit card or PayPal account

A valid credit/debit card or PayPal account is required to pay the ETIAS application fee.
